I watched that documentary episode last night, and I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see you so happy and vibrant in all your authenticity.
The producers at RTE 1 evidently know a star when they see one. You opened the episode with grace and style, then you ended it with a poignant moment that had to touch hearts.
Yes, perhaps the episode comes off as an unapologetic advertisement for your employer, but I'm sure the folks at RTE can be forgiven their enthusiasm for a local company gone global. The real point, I think, is that both RTE and (presumably) Primark wanted to emphasize Irish inclusivity and acceptance. They celebrated it like they had not a care in the world.
Sadly, I can't imagine something similar happening in the United States right now. 6 or 7 years ago, sure. Today, anti-trans hostility is so pronounced on the right that I doubt anyone would take a chance like that.
And let's not speak of the UK ...
The Republic of Ireland is a particularly special place these days, I think. And I'm thrilled for you!
