I watched a video last night of a family experiencing the windward (and seldom visited) coast of Aruba for the first time. In contrast to the gentle waves and peaceful beaches of the leeward side, the waves on the other side are so dangerous nobody dares set foot in the water. Rocks are worn down constantly, caves form, stone is ground into sand.

Your poem reminds me of that.
