I watched the complete video the other day, and it’s horrifyingly instructive.

People need to watch it, I think, given the police department got defensive after the incident and claimed their officers were concerned for the young man’s safety and health, that the officers were just trying to help him.

Anyone who watches the video will see that is a lie. The cops in the video, from the very moment of the interaction, don’t show the least concern for the young man. If they had been worried about him walking in the cold, they would have reacted in an entirely different manner. They would have shown at least a little bit of humanity, a little bit of decency, a little bit of compassion.

Instead, they were autocratic, disrespectful, and even haughty. They treated that young man like a piece of dirt under their shoes. They grew angry when he refused to obey commands they had no lawful grounds to issue.

He begged them to leave him alone and let him go about his business, and they refused even after they were absolutely certain that he was okay. They behaved like pigs.

Anyone doubting that American police officers are often pigs need to watch this video. These two cops are perfect examples.
