I was stopped once for driving without tags, because I had just purchased a work vehicle for my employer and was driving it to the plant.

The state trooper who stopped me was a courteous young man who did no more than walk up, ask for my license and registration, and check out the title and bill of sale. The stop took less than 5 minutes and the trooper smiled and waved as I drove off.

That’s the white American experience.

The Black experience is starkly different and horrible.
