I used to not understand this. I used to confuse the end goal with tactics for how to get there. Sure, it would be lovely to live in a world where race truly doesn't matter anymore.

But it does matter now, and it isn't going to stop mattering no matter how many of us close our eyes to it.

Closing our eyes won't make race stop mattering, it'll just make some of us more comfortable.
