I understand that sometimes parents exercise power over their children in the state lets them do that. For example, the US Supreme Court has allowed Amish parents to withhold a high school education from their children. For the 40% of Amish children do not go on to join the Amish church, this handicaps them for life. This is wrong, in my opinion.
Also with respect to parents enforcing their values on children, it is wrong in my opinion for parents to try to force their children not to be gay or transgender.
Laws don't always agree, but I'm speaking of human rights. Children have the same in alienable human rights is the rest of humanity. They are not always allowed to exercise them.
And this is wrong.
