I totally get it! I live in a rural, conservative area myself, and I wouldn't feel all that safe pulling into an Pride event at an Elk's lodge either -- not with protesters picketing. (Seriously, an Elk's lodge? lol. Makes me think of my grandfather and his stag nights.)

But you're right, of course. Fear is not productive. Fear is a liar. Fear is what stops us from living our best lives.

I'm happy you have plans to go to Pride in bigger cities. I hope you meet people and have a fabulous time.
