I think this boils down exactly what is happening right now. The people who are so staunchly resisting the truth about systemic racism and about our racist past are clinging as hard as they can to a lie that makes them feel better about themselves and the country they live in.

But feeling better can’t make anything get better. Nothing is going to get better until all of us face up to the real truth.
