I think there’s a very strong possibility that overturning Roe could backfire explosively on the Republican Party. Americans overwhelmingly support Roe, but I don’t think people ever truly believed the case and the principle were really at stake. Court watchers have long been poo-pooing the notion that SCOTUS would do anything radical. Looks like they were wrong.

But now the GOP is like a barking dog who’s been chasing a big ole truck for so long he doesn’t know what to do when he finally gets his teeth in it. It’s so much bigger and stronger than he is.

November could be a huge month for the Democrats. We’ll see. A seachange in voting behavior is a very real possibility.
