I think there would probably have been a pretty good chance a few years ago that he would have vetoed something like this. Based on his track record. But today? The Republican Party in Ohio is growing more and more extremist. The voters aren't necessarily getting more extremist. But party leaders certainly are.
This year, the GOP lost huge in Ohio on abortion. But rather than back off social issues they're doubling down, especially by targeting transgender people.
Classic demagoguery.
I used to think the governor was bigger than that, but I don't anymore.
However, I believe Ohio voters ARE bigger than that, and I think they're going to stand up next November.
I base that on talking to some of my conservative family in Ohio rust-belt towns, and they are very much not amused by the extremist direction the Republican Party is taking.
