I think part of the problem here is the assumption that readers will be browsing medium on a laptop or tablet in full screen mode. I suspect this is rarely the case.

I read Medium often as not on my phone, and I believe that is a common practice. I think it’s time for Medium to start working on how to make the mobile experience better for everyone.

After all, increasing readership is in everyone’s interest.
