I think part of the beauty and utility of creative nonfiction is that the truthfulness of it can lie outside the explicit narrative. Usually, when I write creative nonfiction, the narrative is largely true but the details are fictionalized.

So, I asked myself, what if I told a story in which the narrative isn’t true for me, but is for other people?

Kinda cool, I think.
