I think I was kind of lucky living in Manhattan in the 1990s, smack in the middle of a majority gay neighborhood.
Unlike a good deal of the nation, therapy is pretty normalized in NYC. People talk about their therapists the way they would recommend dentists or gyms.
So as a young man I kind of got over the idea that therapy is for crazy people. And I’m so glad! I’ve done a couple courses of therapy over my life and I’ve learned so much about myself. I’m so glad my friends normalized it for me.
And I think you are doing a great thing by normalizing it as much as you can.
