I think I read about research as early as 2010 that showed that vaginal lubrication in women did not correlate well to women experiencing sexual desire. I'm surprised more people aren't out busting that myth. Thanks for this interesting article!

As a side note, even though men's genital state more often corresponds to sexual desire, we men should be in a position to understand how genital arousal doesn't always mean desire. After all, the unwanted erection is kind of a comic trope. We joke about how embarrassing it is. We know that an erection doesn't necessarily mean we're feeling sexual desire. Especially when we're younger, it's often just a physiological reaction to some non-sexual stimulus, like tight clothing or pressure on the prostate from a full bladder.

That should be enough to help us relate to the fact that vaginal lubrication doesn't have to mean desire.
