I think I can say much the same, John Gorman. Growing up conservative, I should have taken on all those values.

I didn’t, because I knew what it felt like to be different and be bullied for it.

And even though I started my professional life as a military officer, I still gravitated toward people with open, liberal, accepting sensibilities.

I’m a big ole lefty because I’m small and gay.

I’m pretty darn sure about that.
