I spend a bit of time on Quora every day, just reading articles about historical linguistics and other niche interests. Fairly frequently, I run across references to Harry and Megan. Responses from the British public are so over the top. I mean, it feels like they hate her, literally, and with fierce passion — just a bit more than they hate Harry.

And once somebody drops an insult, the pile-on begins. It's quite extraordinary. I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like it.

For Harry and Megan, it must be exhausting.
