I see a similar phenomenon with gay white men supporting Trump or Republicans. While this does not happen in huge numbers, it happens in very significant numbers.

Powerful gay white men like former ambassador Richard Grenell are a perfect example of those who get in line instead of in formation.

He and white gay men like him are perfectly happy to snuggle up with their own privilege, content to win just enough tolerance to let them grab a slice of the power pie.

Meanwhile, the bulk of LGBTQ people look on from the margins, deprived of the kind of freedom and equality men like Grenell guard jealously for themselves.
