I remember the first time I heard about the school where you're teaching now, decades ago.

I remember thinking that its chances of surviving were slim. But not only did it survive, it grew and it's thriving, helping students who have few other places to turn.

I was thrilled when you first told me you'd be teaching there. And I'm thrilled that you're sharing a little bit of it with us.

Also, if I can just say — this is a remarkable act of service on your part. I know you get satisfaction from it, but you didn't have to do this. You're practically volunteering, in selfless generosity to people in need.

I know you won't be able to tell too many stories, because of the necessity of protecting the privacy of your students. But I do hope you're sometimes able to share.

Thanks so much!
