I remember my first hickey, maybe a little bit older than when you had yours, but not much older. It wasn't easy to conceal, and a bunch of people spotted it. As a guy, I didn't get a lot of shaming over it. Mostly, other boys seemed envious. If only they knew my mysterious refusal to name the girl in question was actually a matter of protecting the reputation of another boy. LOL

It's funny (and not in a comical way) how different standards attach to sexuality depending on your gender. Boys don't get shamed for hickeys, but girl sure do, to this day.

Oh, btw, I published a disturbing story yesterday about homophobic abuse in a Tennessee high school. I'd love your input as a professional teacher, even though I know you don't love teaching anymore.
