I remember learning as a child in school that "Give me liberty or give me death" was one of the most noble sentiments of the American War for Independence.

I did not learn some of the troubling facts about the man who uttered that stirring statement, but let's leave that aside for now.

I'm marveling at the sheer hypocrisy. I mean, really? Death is preferable to lack of liberty only for White, property-owning men seeking lower taxes and a slightly different form of representative government?

Color me gobsmacked.

Though, honestly, I'm far from surprised that Prager U is propagandandizing ahistorical nonsense. That's why they exist.
