I relate to this so much as an artist. When I create fiction, it shapes me as much as I shape it.

No matter the roadmap I may have in mind when I start an artistic project, the outcome is invariably different from what I intended, and I emerge slightly different as well.

The act of creating creates change.

Or so I see it.
