I read that New York Times article yesterday and shared it with a few people. Tucker actually tipped me off to Alito's dissent the day before. The justice makes no bones about the fact that he wants to privilege "traditional" religion, shielding conservative religious people from the ordinary consequences of discriminating against minorities like trans and gay people.

It's one thing to privilege conservative religious people legally, as much as I oppose that. It's quite another thing for Alito to use his exalted position to whine about social consequences of unkind, even cruel behavior. But that's exactly what Alito is doing. His mask is off. People should pay very close attention to what he's saying - particularly because he's precisely one of the bigots he's attempting to privilege and empower.
