I read somewhere that Rife has mentioned during from the controversy about his domestic violence joke that he was "just trying it out," and that he sees his material as being aimed as much at men as women.

Well, maybe his joke about a battered woman not being able to cook would appeal to certain men. I don't know. I'd hope not, but I guess he thought so.

I don't think many women are going to take kindly to it.

But then, in trying the joke out, as he puts it, he didn't face a whole lot of risk, did he?
