I read something yesterday, coincidentally enough, by a guy (well, a bro) who just had to announce to the world why trans people are too uppity.

That's not how he phrased it, of course.

He started his jeremiad by complaining about the time somebody told him their pronouns, he didn't understand, and then they were rude enough to suggest that he Google it.

His rant progressed from there into typical transphobia. Nothing surprising. We've all heard it before.

It just wasn't his fault, you see. He suggested without saying it, that if it weren't for these damn rude trans people, he wouldn't have a problem with any trans people!

But then, he obviously kept a crucial part of that conversation to himself, if it actually happened at all.

What must that conversation have REALLY been like, I had to ask myself, if it devolved so quickly?

I guess he's a really good example of one of the potentials you discuss here.
