I quite agree with you that it’s about time women were more represented and that the right is being ridiculous about this. These appointments are clearly something to celebrate.

As an AOC/Sanders progressive, however, I must admit to a frisson of suspicion.

It seems for his most critical positions, Biden is going to install moderate to conservative establishment Democrats – perhaps salted by the odd Republican. So, appointing an all-woman communications team could in a cynical sense take the spotlight off appointments that upset us progressives in other arenas.

I hate to admit that’s the second thought that occurred to me after I heard the news and celebrated.

I sincerely hope my cynicism is overwrought.
