I quite agree with you, it’s really kind of silly what’s coming out of the Patterson franchise right now, and the quality is … well, getting worse.

I thought I’d add, though, that I was once friends with somebody who wrote for Patterson, and she had nothing but good things to say about her experience. According to her, his terms were very generous, and he was very kind and easy to work with.

So at least he’s not a slave driver exploiting people for a pittance.

Also, she landed a literary agent owing to the work she did for Patterson and the connections that she got out of it, then eventually snagged her own book deal.

So the experience was a net positive for her, or so she says.
