I published an article yesterday about a Christian rap star burning up the charts with a song about how LGBTQ people are a bunch of pedophiles who traffic children and should be killed. I did not emphasize the Christian element in my story because my main point is that Google, Apple, and Spotify are wrong to platform hate speech and incitement to violence.

This guy is a very conservative Christian, and so are his hundreds of thousands of fans, but reading the YouTubes comments section is still scary as hell. These Christians are so angry at people like me that they're literally praising explicit death threats, while making some of their own.

To see that sort of raw hatred, to read violent threat after violent threat (by people who praise Jesus in the same breath) is a great object lesson in why people are abandoning Christianity and/or churches.

Talk about drilling holes in the ship and as it sinks!
