I plant several different varieties, from little cherry tomatoes for salads, to dense plum tomatoes that are great for sauce and canning, to those big buffalo or beef-steak tomatoes that are perfect for eating fresh, hot from the sun. Also, some variety of yellow tomatoes have this marvelous taste that you seem never to find in a yellow tomato at the supermarket.
