I never cease to be mystified, as I told Zada Kent this morning commenting on an article she wrote about the obstacles her trans son faces, by the over-the-top emotional reactions of anti-trans folks.

Jesus, you’d think somebody was trying to hurt them rather than just asking to be left alone to live in peace.

But you can’t reason someone out of something they didn’t reason themselves into. I guess the best people can do is just keep telling stories. Keep personalizing and humanizing queer and trans lives.

That’s probably much more effective than trying to argue with an irrational person.
