I must not have expressed myself clearly. I'm saying that it's all right to view valuing women and fighting sexism as superior. Some cultures are superior to others, and we can work to know that, in part, by understanding how they treat members of marginalized minorities. Viewing all cultures as equal and equally good would sound the death knell to advocates and activists like me who fight to stop oppression, discrimination, and bigotry.
It's absolutely okay to be certain that women are equal to men and deserve every protection and right that men have.
It's absolutely okay to be certain that cultures that mistreat queer people are terrible cultures.
I mean, I know that some people resist that certainty, but I am certain that they are at worst disgusting, evil people.
At best, they are weak-minded fools who have to be pushed aside and neutered in order for advocates and activist to work for a better society, knowing for certain (as we do) that some cultural values are better than others.
Cultures that mistreat women and queer people are evil cultures. I will shout that to the rooftops in the absolute certainty that I am correct.
We should never be ashamed of that.
