I might register a minor quibble with Wiki’s definition here, given that empiricists tend to subscribe to a sort of Popper philosophy that rejects proof and certainty with respect to knowing true things about the physical universe — but perhaps the definition is valid depending on how one reads it. Anyway, not a criticism of the article, just a quibble.
