I made my own journey out of evangelicalism many decades ago, but I can still feel your palpable relief and joy. Congratulations! By the way, your aunt and her partner could have been the couple in my childhood church in Alabama who finally got fed up one day and came out to everyone.

Didn’t go so well for them (obviously) but while they ended up forced out of the church, they did well for themselves otherwise. And I took secret inspiration from their courage for a long, long time.
