I live among the Amish, and you’re absolutely right; they are very hospitable. Just a minor point, though. They would not happily pose for a photo. The Amish believe that photographs steal their souls, and they go to some links to avoid photography, and can become very angry if you insist.

They don’t mind you taking photos of their horses and buggies and farms and what not, as long as they themselves do not appear in the photos.
