I live across the lake, on a rural, two lane highway that happens to be the most direct route from Chicago to the dunes and resort towns of northern Michigan. We sure get our share of beach-seeking tourists driving through.

I’ve often wondered if the beaches nearer Chicago lack something, or if the grass really is just greener on the other side.
