I know, right? That statement is so patronizing and tone deaf, it really is funny. I used the line in a tweet to promote this article, and it was more successful than my other tweets.
Sadly, the line reflects common sentiment among Catholic clerics and religious-order members, who like to claim LGBTQ issues are so confusing and complicated that people have trouble understanding them.
What they seem unable to grasp (or maybe to accept) is that Catholics everywhere, especially young people, understand the issues quite well — and categorically reject the Church’s patently evil teachings and practices.
