I just went to take a look at that Federalist article, and it's astonishing in its ignorance and thoughtlessness.

The writer actually tries to claim that Taylor Swift is all but single-handedly responsible for the rise in popularity of women singing about their bad boyfriends.

Seriously?

Taylor Swift wasn't yet a twinkle in her great-grandmother's eye when women country singers were giving voice to heartache over their boyfriends and husbands.

That Federalist article is altogether puerile and and thoughtless. The magazine used to be a serious publication for serious conservative intellectuals.

I'm kind of astonished they now let this level of unthinking crap into their publication.

But I guess that's mostly what conservativism is today. Unthinking crap.
