I just participated in a little workshop yesterday with Medium writer Donna Barker in which I talked about using Medium as a way to find and cultivate excellent beta readers — which I think is just one little-considered positive that Medium can offer to long-form fiction writers.

Sometimes I wonder about the great writers like Dickens who serialized in newspapers under enormous pressure to make deadline. Did they take reader feedback into account?
