I hope an indictment of Trump is inevitable, but I have to say the relatively small potatoes of this indictment does not encourage me.

Is this really the best prosecutors could do for a start? If it’s any signal of what’s to come, I think maybe there isn’t much to come.

I’m not saying that tax fraud on in-kind compensation isn’t serious. It’s a felony, after all, and the case looks almost airtight.

But … it’s not exactly the grand criminal conspiracy people were hoping to see unveiled. I hope there’s a lot more to come than this, but I’m afraid maybe there isn’t.
