I honestly don’t get it. I’m gay and not at all attracted to women, so guess it’s not unusual that I don’t find breasts sexually attractive.

But nor do I find them repulsive or something that needs to be hidden away. How can that even be?

I’ve lived in Germany where public nudity in parks, beaches, and other appropriate places is expected and respectable.

I’ve had to caution European friends on American beaches not to bare their breasts while changing, observing their astonished reactions.

Our shaming sexualization of breasts really is astonishing, and not in a good way. It’s puerile and toxic besides being irrational.

Time for some positive change!
