I hear you, Joseph. What gets me is that I’m getting old. Not sure when that happened. I just turned around one day and I wasn’t young anymore. My cousin visited the other day and my reaction when I saw her was, “Who’s that wrinkled old woman?”
She’s my age.
My generation thought we were gonna take us over the hump. We thought by the time we were dead, that racism and bigotry of all sorts against minorities would be history. We were the ones, us and our kids. We were gonna leave the world a much better place than we found it.
Now I’m scared to death that I’m going to die and nothing will have changed. That frustrates and infuriates me.
