I hear you. I’d be afraid of that too.
On the other hand, I don’t think I could cut it at all as a bartender or sever unless I was pretty desperate. The food service industry demands a certain kind of personality — cheerful on the outide, while hard boiled and tough inside.
It also exposes you to a lot more blatant hostility. I don’t know why, but a lot of people seem to think of servers as punching bags.
I don’t think most jobs carry nearly so much risk of mistreatment.
