I have seen some evidence that Trump’s malicious lie about doctors profiting off covid19 is rebounding on him. I certainly hope so.

In the rural northern Michigan community I live in, our small hospital canceled all elective procedures during the early part of the pandemic. That meant the hospital lost significant patient load.

Nurses and technicians I know personally had their shifts cut. Surgeons, typically paid by the procedure, faced significant income losses.

My dad, who was dying of COPD, had most of his physician specialist appointments canceled out of safety concerns. Not only did he miss out on the care, but his doctors were not able to bill for the appointments.

His pulmonologist shut his outpatient clinic down for almost 6 weeks.

It’s astonishing people have to even point these things out. I sure as hell hope nobody is buying Trump’s nonsense.
