I have disliked Sullivan for decades, long before anybody even knew what a podcast was or had ever heard of the kind of mailing list he uses.

His article claiming that lesbians are disappearing because of trans people was disgustingly transphobic and laughably false by the data.

He has over the years evinced an elitist conservative agenda that is frankly nauseating. I opposed him to the very core of my being in the 1990s and I continue to do so today, because he is an unapologetic conservative.

And no matter what any poll says in the Huffington Post, barring a brutally racist police force like the NYPD from pride is the right thing to do and it should not be controversial, even if it is controversial.

You can keep ignoring me when I tell you the NYPD is committing systematic acts of brutality against LGBTQ people, especially trans people in people of color, but it’s still true no matter what.

And it matters deeply, no matter what. Which is why I wrote the article.
