I have been writing about this trend for years, and the possibility that it might be coming true very soon is terrifying to me. As a gay man, after all, I have everything to lose with that definition of religious liberty. I will become a second-class citizen in my own country, subject to legal discrimination at the whim of any person of faith.

LGBTQ people, women, people of color — We all stand to lose so much if these radically conservative ideas gain legal force.
