I had not heard of this; thanks for the information. Speaking of red states trying to reach beyond their borders, one of my latest stories is about the State of Tennessee testing legislation to pressure insurance companies everywhere in the United States to stop covering transition care.

The law is pretty clever, actually. Clever enough that experts tell me it has a good chance of surviving Constitutional scrutiny — especially considering today's conservative federal judiciary.

The Tennessee bill is a GOP trial balloon. If it works, copycat laws will certainly roll out in other red states, like Florida, run by people who seem determined to force their brutal belief systems on everyone in the U.S.
