I guess what surprises me most about this little tempest in a teapot, or what I object to most in any case, is that a certain group of Evangelical Christian furries are complaining that they're being discriminated against in furry communities because they're Christians.
But they're entering communities renowned for acceptance and affirmation of queer people and other minorities.
Furries make themselves "weird" kind of on purpose, partly as a statement or demonstration of radical acceptance.
You don't become a furry to reject groups of people based on their minority status.
So some furries have made very clear to Evangelical Christians that they're welcome but they have to leave their anti-LGBTQ prejudices at the door.
Evangelical Christians read that as persecution. Sigh.
Furries are like, this is who we are. Get over yourselves.
