I guess that depends on your perspective. Or maybe it would depend on if those one-out-of-five homophobic bigots expressed their homophobic bigotry in church or at church functions.
Because if I were in a church and somebody started talking about how I was sinful because I'm gay or how I don't deserve to be married, I would not be able to stay even if it was only "20%" expressing that cruel, disgusting evil. I think this goes a long way to express how very deep this problem is.
If we're expected to put up with one out of five people morally condemning us, and if we can call that acceptable odds, our society is truly very evil.
