I guess it's nice that the Orlando Police revised their guidelines for rewarding officers, but it's disturbing that they had to. It's more than disturbing, really. It's an indictment of prevailing police culture, uniformly values brutal and bullying behavior.

Mills is not a rogue cop. He's a product of cop culture, lauded and admired by other cops. Rewarded by other cops.

His repugnant behavior IS cop culture. His racism and brutal violence ARE cop culture.

What do you call a lone wolf when he's really part of a pack of other wolves who prowl and destroy just like he does?

You call him an alpha. A leader. The problem isn't the the line wolf. It's the whole damn pack.
