I glossed over the physiological side of things, Ronald C. Flores-Gunkle, though I’m certainly familiar with the phenomenon. My foster son in Montreal soaked up French as as second language before he hit puberty. And he didn’t even have to work at it. He just absorbed it.
For adults, things are much harder.
