I get fired up because religiously based homophobia is evil.

Homophobes are evil.

People who brand us as sinners are evil and vile.

Do you have any idea what the LGBTQ youth suicide attempt rate is?

Are you even aware that over forty percent of all homeless youth in the United States identity as LGBTQ?

Religiously based homophobic evil hurts people.

Good, innocent, decent people.

So, hell yes. I’m gonna get fired up and I’m gonna stay fired up.

Homophobia is evil. It hurts people. It must be wiped from the face of the Earth.

Homophobic bigots must be shamed and shut down.

All it takes for evil to prevail, after all, to paraphrase a famous quote, is for good people to do nothing.

One of the reasons that the evil of religiously based homophobic bigotry is still so prevalent is that people just accept it.

I won’t be one of those people.

I will speak up.

As loudly and as much as can.

Why?

Because I’m a good, decent, loving person.

I’ve been on the wrong side of religious people’s branding.

I know first-hand the terrible harm it causes.

I will acknowledge evil for what it is.

Religion is no excuse for homophobia.
